Valentines Day

Need a little Valentines Inspiration? I put this little vignette together for you at the Aurora Goodwill on Belleview. (They are used to me re-arranging things.) One stop shopping. The cabinet matches my dining room, but I don't have anywhere to put it. I love the little silver serving dish. It would be great for hot fudge sauce.
The candlesticks are mercury glass, and they are all less than $3.00. The two tiered cookie stand on the top shelf is really beautiful. (you can't see the pattern) it is English China. ($10.99 I think)
The graduated canisters would be cute filled with cookies or Hersheys kisses for a quick teachers-lounge gift. (Add some coffee while you're at it!)
The cabinet is $199.00 (MUCH less than retail, but still a little steep!)
The good news is that by shopping second hand you are helping the community, saving things from going into the landfills, and recycling your old stuff. Everyone wins!

My Wish List

Remember this post from my other blog September the March?
These are some of the things that I am currently searching for during my thrifting adventures. You know what "they" (and by "they" I mean Oprah) say, you put it out into the universe and it will come to you. Let's see what happens.
Dale of Norway Sweater

(I'm not Norwegian, I've had an unhealthy obsession
with these sweaters since I was nine years old)

Don't know why I want one, I just do. So there.

Coat Rack

Well, here is what I came across the other day at the Goodwill. No they aren't there anymore, I bought them both!
Okay, this coat tree is in the "before" state. I will paint it black and show you how cute it is. The sweater is not a true "Dale of Norway", but it has the alpine detailing that I adore! It fits, it's cute, it's warm, and it has pockets!! I love it!

See, Oprah was right. Throw it out into the universe and see what comes back to you!

Mad Men Office Furniture

Don Draper can take me for a spin in this little office chair anytime! This little cart is perfect for a brand new electric typewriter! This is the second little rolling cart that I have found this month. This one is industrial green, but I'm going to paint it silver or "aluminum" I think. I can't decide if I want to paint the chair black or leave it as is... we'll see. I love the retro office look! I'm going to put on my best secretary outfit, bust out some bubblegum ciggies and hang out in my office for awhile.
I love these little Goodwill Gems!
Antique Office Chair from the Macey Company 1929-1950ish--$16.99 (what am I rich?)
Rolling Cart--$5.99
Mad Men Deliciousness--Priceless!

A new Blog!

I thought that I would create a new blog all about my "junking" and re-furbishing things that I find at my favorite store the Gee-Dub as I like to call it. Here we go!
